The Bloodhound is classified by the American Kennel Club as a member of the Hound Group. These big dogs are commonly seen in movies that have escaped convicts in them. Though they look big and dangerous, they are actually very sweet and will never hurt or harm anyone.

They have long droopy ears and a wrinkled face which gives them a gloomy look. It is 23 to 27 inches high and weighs around 80 to 110 pounds. They have coarse hair and their coats come in various colors like red, liver and tan. They have a keen sense of smell and are thus used to track criminals. They are used to track down criminals and people who are lost.

The Bichon Frise is a popular breed of dog whose only function is to provide companionship. It is classified as a part of the Non-Sporting Group by the American Kennel Club. They are very popular because they are the perfect family pets. The Bichon is nine to eleven inches tall and weighs around seven to thirteen pound. These dogs have thick white coat and alert, cheerful eyes. These fluffy dogs are the perfect family dog more so when you suffer from allergies and still want a dog. The Bichon's tail is carried proudly over its back.  They are healthy breeds who do not suffer from any major health problems.

These dogs are very loving and affectionate. They adjust to apartment life quite well. They are quite friendly with other dogs and pets. They also get along well with children though they should be handled properly. Bichon tolerates rough behavior but can get hurt easily. To keep your dog fit and healthy you must take him for walks on a regular basis. This becomes all the more important when you don't have a fenced yard at home. 

Beagles are popular hunting dogs. They have been used to hunt for several centuries. In addition to being popular hunting dogs, they also make wonderful family pets. Beagles are a popular breed because they are well mannered and easy to handle.

They come in two sizes, under thirteen inches and thirteen to fifteen inches. Both varieties are almost similar except in their size. Its coat is short and it has dark eyes, long tail and droopy ears. The coat mostly comes in a combination of black, white and tan color. Black, orange or tan dogs with white markings are also available. These dogs are quite popular as they are very loving and playful. Beagles love to eat and they eat whatever they get. They love food so much that if you put them on diet, they will eat garbage gladly. They may look in the trashcans in search of an after dinner snack.

The Chow Chow originated in China. This dog breed is classified as a member of the Non-Sporting group by the American Kennel Club. They were used as hunting dogs in China. They were brought to England by Asian sailors. Chow Chows are seventeen to twenty inches high and weigh around forty five to seventy pounds. It has a thick double coat which comes in different colors like blue, black, cream or cinnamon, though the red Chow Chow is most common. They have a back tongue with a blue tint. Their blue tongue is totally normal and you should not be concerned about it. They have down turned lips which give them a misleading angry appearance. They also have a curling tail over its back.

These dogs love to play with children though they do not go well with other dogs or pets. They can become unfriendly to people outside the family. The dog may bully you if you are an inexperienced dog owner. You will have to be strict with these dogs else they will dominate you. You must make sure that they follow all your commands in a proper way.
